What is Minivader?

Minivader is a top-down shooter, full of action and mayhem, that throws its player into a pixelated yet vibrant universe, comprising alien landscapes, and even landscapes of combat. These environments are procedurally generated on-the-fly by the Minivader—the tiniest little yet magically powerful space warrior-wandering through the levels of Minivader, gunning down wave after wave of alien invaders. The game's retro look, combined with current gameplay mechanics, an active dynamic load of blasting blasts, gives the whole thing a nostalgic touch, that would easily appeal to neither the consummate gamer nor even the casual one.

How to Play

Operate your Minivader with easy, yet responsive controls. Use WASD keys for movement; use your mouse for aiming. The primary weapon has a high rate of fire, so your greatest asset is to keep shooting. Power-ups will enhance your weapons and health, while health pickups will keep you going. All these fun ones try to clear levels as fast as possible while scoring points.

Tips & Tricks

Keep Moving: Try to keep moving to avoid enemy fire. Standing still makes Minivader an easy target.
Use Power-Ups Smartly: Using many power-ups at once can be overwhelming, so choose your options wisely.
Grab Health Packs: Don't ignore health pickups, especially as enemies grow more challenging in later levels.
Learn Enemy Behavior: Each enemy has an attack pattern. By learning them, you can anticipate damage and try to dodge it.

Inspired by the likes of Asteroids and Galaga, the team wanted to make a game that really distilled the essence of those classics while injecting some modern flair into it. Upon release in early 2023, it was widely acclaimed for its nostalgic vibe and entertaining gameplay.
