PRAXIS FIGHTER X is a very fast-paced bullet-hell shoot 'em up arcade game, pitting you in an intense combat scenario against a militarized police force defending a corporate toxic sludge pipeline. The title is a gloriously adrenaline-fueled rush that models the destruction and reflex-based action of classic shmups or shoot 'em up games, with the context being the endless challenge of dodging bullets fired from the gates of a corporate toxic sludge pipeline.

How to Play

PRAXIS FIGHTER X is a game of dodging incoming bullets, shooting down your targets, and hitting ground targets by the gun-tips of your fingers. The complex bullet patterns undoubtedly will test your skills in maneuvering through each level. You will have access to a focus mode that heightens attention in difficult sections and a bomb weapon in order to clear away thick clusters of bullets. Remember that your advantage is his/her smaller hitbox, so find a way to exploit it!

Tips and Tricks

Combo Meter: Keep your combo meter going by eliminating enemies and ground targets. Dealing damage also helps sustain it-perhaps when it runs out, your multiplier will begin falling.
Charging Bomb: The combo meter drains slowly while charging your bomb weapon.
Bomb Collisions: If your bomb collides with an enemy mid-air, you get your shot back but with a shorter delay.
Powerups: Picking up a powerup that you already have or a 1UP at 3 lives will grant you points instead of the usual powerup effects. Your current multiplier also applies.
Boss Fights: Your multiplier also applies during boss fights. Take out all the boss's destructible parts while dealing damage continuously for maximum points.

The genesis of PRAXIS FIGHTER X goes back to Eric Billingsley, a rate professional game developer. It was initially created as an attempt to bottle the feel of the classic shoot 'em up games. The game was influenced by Krystian Majewski's Advanced Shmup Tutorial from Lazy Devs Academy, which helped Billingsley grasp the nitty-gritty of shmups. The development process included vice feedback and playtesting help from Otto, LokiStriker, Louie Chapman, Catto, Glimm, Trog, TheGacko, Jonah Davidson, and Jeep Barnett. Other credits for helpful feedback go to Aktane with bullet visibility while Heracleum helped out with turret rendering tech. The encouragement and support from Maria were really promising grounds to get the game on its feet.
