How to Play

The goal is straightforward: win two out of three tricks during a round in Palamedes (US). Each round consists of three tricks with each trick being awarded to the player who places the highest cash value in the pertinent suit. The game uses the standard 52-card deck, and the suits are ranked on the basis of superiority by Spades, Hearts, Diamonds, and Clubs.

At the beginning of a round, three cards are drawn from the deck of each player. Each simultaneously places one card from his hand; the trick is won by whoever has the higher card in the same suit. If the cards belong to different suits, the one bearing the suit of the highest card wins. After the completion of three tricks, whoever wins two tricks wins the round.
