What is Sonic Maxidrive?
Sonic Maxidrive is an energetic and dynamic hack of the classic Sonic the Hedgehog games, ushering in a new look at the established brand. Five unique demo stages exist within the project: Rust Hill, Sunken Ship, Frost Palace, Chaotic Fair, and Indigo Street, all loaded with challenges and fun. Plus, players can proceed to the Special Stages and collect the precious Chaos Emeralds from there. Any interest? Unlock Super Sonic by getting all the seven emeralds and collecting fifty rings in the air while jumping in midair. This is a great blend of nostalgic old and new content to keep the spirit of Sonic alive and well!
How to Play
Sonic Maxidrive is simple and fun to play. You control Sonic with the usual controls: run, jump, and spin attack. Aim for collecting as many rings as possible in each stage while avoiding obstacles and enemies and finally reaching the goal. Special stages are activated by collecting a gold ring at the end of some levels. In these stages, you have to go through loops while picking up items that fill your gem meter. Upon filling your gem meter, you can unleash Super Sonic, granting you temporary invincibility and speed. Remember: you're expected to collect all seven Chaos Emeralds to receive a Super Sonic transformation!
Tips and Tricks
- Rings!: Always keep in mind to grab lots of rings. They do not work just for looks; in fact, they shield you against enemies or can save you if you happen to hit an enemy and lose all your lost rings.
- Spin Attack: Get used to spin attacking to hit enemies and destroy obstacles that block your path. Timing is very important!
- Special Stage Strategy: In the Special Stages, try to collect items that fill the gem meter while avoiding hazards. The order of loops does not matter, so just prioritize speed and efficiency.
- Super Sonic Unlocking: Upon collecting all seven emeralds, start gathering fifty rings and hit the A (J) button while jumping to transform into Super Sonic. This is very helpful for beating the later stages with ease.
