What is Guardian Star?

A fast-paced arcade shooter that puts you in the cockpit of the legendary plane, Guardian Star. Your job: to defend Earth from aliens attempting to strip it of its natural resources. Slow down a little as the exclamation marks fill up-your ultimate challenge is to keep yourself from vaporized down in laser beams and enemy projectiles, while dodging through hazardous asteroid fields. Survive! Kill the aliens! Protect what's yours!

How to Play

The control scheme is straightforward but hard to master. Use Left, Right, Up, Down-arrow keys to move your Guardian Star in any desired direction. You must then press the spacebar to fire at the enemies approaching you. Your reflexes are stretched thin as you multitask moving and aiming. It becomes harder as you progress because the number of foes and obstacles increases.

Tips & Tricks

Stay Alert: Keep an eye on the whole screen at all times. The aliens can appear from any angle.
Plan Your Moves: Anticipate enemy attacks and dodge accordingly. Sometimes it is better to move sideways than to stay still.
Use Power-ups: If there are power-ups around, pick them up. They can increase your firepower or grant you temporary invincibility.
Don't Get Cornered: Make sure never to get cornered. The edge of the screen might prove to be dangerous.

History

Guardian Star was developed to capitalize on the swollen market for engaging retro games. Drawing inspiration from classic shoot-'em-ups, its aim was to resurrect memories of early gaming days while putting forth an entirely new set of challenges.
