Tetris (set 1) No sound is a puzzle game with timeless qualities. It has been in existence and charming players for decades now. This version pits the player against the famous falling blocks, each with its own shape that you have to rotate and place so as to complete one horizontal line without any gaps. This action will cause the line to disappear, and the player will be awarded points; the faster the game gets, the quicker the player's reflexes and strategic thinking skills are tested. Without the sound, this comes down to pure visual concentration and instant decisions.

How to Play

The controls are simple. Move the falling block left or right, rotate clockwise/counterclockwise, and drop it fast to the bottom of the playfield. The game ends when blocks stack to the top, leaving nowhere to put a new one. You gain points after clearing each line, and with a higher score, the speed level increases.

Tips & Tricks

Think Ahead: Always think two or three moves ahead to set up clearing multiple lines at once.
Make Use of the Hard Drop: Hard dropping blocks to their resting place saves precious seconds, especially when you're pressed for time.

History

Tetris was created by Alexey Pajitnov in 1984 while working in the Dorodnitsyn Computing Centre of the Soviet Academy of Sciences in Moscow. The game was derived from classic games like "Pentominoes" and "Tetris" and very quickly gained popularity in the Soviet Union before going international. Over the years, Tetris has been ported on virtually every platform, becoming a cultural phenomenon.
